Engagement Rate Calculator
This calculator estimates engagement relative to follower count. It is useful for a consistent snapshot, but platforms and campaigns may define engagement differently.
How it works
Engagement rate = (likes + comments + shares + saves) / followers x 100.
- Shares and saves are optional and count equally when entered.
- Follower count is the denominator; reach-based and impression-based rates will differ.
- Use metrics from the same post or reporting period for a meaningful comparison.
Example
With 10,000 followers, 420 likes, 35 comments, 10 shares, and 15 saves, total interactions are 480 and follower-based engagement is 4.8%.
Common questions
Is there one universal engagement-rate formula?
No. Some reports divide by followers, reach, impressions, posts, or video views. This tool clearly uses followers.
Should I compare different platforms directly?
Use caution. Platform formats, audience behavior, distribution, and available interaction types differ.
